ASH Scotland, commissioned by the NHS Management Executive, has produced guidelines for the Scottish Health Service on how to develop and monitor effective tobacco policies. These guidelines stress the importance of monitoring procedures, the key role of management in ensuring the success of effective tobacco policies, the need for staff training and for help for those who smoke.
